Dear Students,

Dan Mccarney

As I walked off the field at Kinnick Stadium last Saturday, I looked up at the scoreboard and was overwhelmed by the effort of our team. I have never been more proud of my coaches, players and Iowa State University.

We owed that victory to our great Cyclone fans. You have stuck with us through some tough times. It was very touching for our kids to receive the great reception outside the Jacobson Athletic Building when we returned to Ames. It was a day we will never forget.

Our students have a special place in the hearts of my staff, our players and myself. When we came to ISU, you believed in us, buying season tickets in record numbers. We have five more home games, and it would mean the world to us if you would come out and support us.

No matter if you were sitting in the front row of Kinnick Stadium last Saturday or in front of your television, you felt that rush of excitement when the final gun sounded on Saturday. It was a feeling none of us will ever forget.

Our win over the Hawkeyes was one step in our quest to make a real mark here in Ames. We get back at it this week with a big game against Ball State. A win will set the stage for a great Big 12 Conference season.

We want — we need — your support Saturday in Jack Trice Stadium.

Warmest regards,

Dan McCarney
