Wave after wave of meth-lab busts has put a dangerous epidemic into the lime-light.

Methamphetamines are becoming a substitute for crack in many communities because of its very low street price and longer high.

It is easily manufactured and very popular among blue collar white men in the Southwest and Midwest.

Meth artificially increases energy and makes sleep impossible, which is why some find it appealing.

How empty does your life have to be to sniff the equivalent of oven cleaner?

When asked about the drug’s outgrowth in popularity, President Clinton said, “We have to stop meth before it becomes the crack of the 1990s.”

He then signed the Comprehensive Methamphetamine Control Act of 1996, which helps police detect and seize chemicals that are used in garage labs.

Because of this, people all over the country are speaking out against the drug, but it is not their decision — it is the person who is taking the drug whose choice it is to screw-up their lives.

Meth is one of the most dangerous drugs in the world and has some extremely serious side effects.

The central nervous system actions that result from taking even small amounts of methamphetamine include increased wakefulness, increased physical activity, decreased appetite, increased respiration, hyperthermia and euphoria.

Other effects include irritability, insomnia, confusion, tremors, convulsions, anxiety, paranoia and aggressiveness. Hyperthermia and convulsions can result in death. Cardiovascular side effects, which include chest pain and hypertension, can result in cardiovascular collapse and death.

In addition, meth causes increased heart rate and blood pressure and can cause irreversible damage to blood vessels in the brain, producing strokes.

Other effects of methamphetamine include respiratory problems, irregular heartbeat and extreme anorexia.

One of the most chilling side effects of meth — it has been directly linked to causing psychotic behavior.

A New Mexico man who took a large dose of meth beheaded his 14-year-old son and threw the head from his van onto the highway.

If you take meth, chances are you will experience some, if not all of these side effects, but at least you’ll be cool, right?
