DARREN’S DIGITS

—Darren Davis’ 200 yards in the game gave him 513 for the year. He is now averaging 171 yards per game and is on pace for 1,881 yards, which would be the third best season in Cyclone history behind brother Troy’s two best seasons.

—It was Darren’s fourth game of 200 or more yards, second behind Troy’s total of nine.

—This 93 yards receiving represented a career high.

—Darren’s two rushing touchdowns gave him eight for his career, while the receiving score was his second.

BANDY’S BULLETS

—With his touchdown pass, Todd Bandhauer moved to within four of the Cyclone all-time record of 33, set by Alex Espinoza.

—He moved to within nine yards of tying Bret Oberg for third place in passing yards in Cyclone history.

—He has not been sacked in any of the three games this season.

TEAM’S TRIUMPHS

—The last time the Cyclones had 500 yards in a game was in September of 1995 against UNLV.

—The Cyclones moved to 13-1 against MAC opponents.

—The team moved to 2-1 for the first time since 1992.

—Iowa State is over .500 for the first time since Dan McCarney’s first game against Ohio in 1995.

—This is the first two-game winning streak since the 1996 season, when ISU took consecutive contests over Northern Iowa and Missouri.

—This is the first time the ‘Clones rushed for 300 yards since September of 1996 against Missouri.

—It was the first shutout since 1984, when the team whitewashed West Texas State 14-0.

—This was the largest margin of victory since the opening game of 1993, when the Cyclones downed Northern Illinois 54-10.

—This was the first time the team allowed under nine points since 1991, when they lost to Wisconsin 7-6. The defensive coordinator for that Badger team was Dan McCarney.
