Cyclone cheer from the Pacific Rim

Danny Fong

I just couldn’t believe my eyes as I was reading the college football section on the ESPNET when I saw that my beloved ISU beat the much hated IOWA.

Before I knew it, I then went over to CNNSI to reconfirm the score and, yes, both of them showed the same results.

I then resorted to shouting, jumping up and down in my office, and then I called all my fellow Cyclones here in Malaysia about the historical thrashing that we served up for the “Hawkeyes.”

I could still remember walking to the stadium wearing the “f*&$ Iowa” T-shirt just to irk the Hawkeye supporters when I was still at ISU.

I guess deep down we were hoping that the game would be close — and then, by a stroke of luck, we would beat the Hawks.

To all the players, Coach Mac, Bandhauer, Parmentier, Gibson, Anderson, DD, Marsau, Bogwill, Bernal, Groce, Kohl and the rest, my CONGRATULATIONS for bringing our pride back.

A job well done!
