Metal faux pas creates controversy

John Baldwin

It’s nice that heavy metal gets a little press now and then from the Daily, but Ben Jones needs to research his pieces a little more thoroughly.

For instance, in his latest article, he states that Fear Factory focused on their new album while tossing in some older material from “Demanufacture” and “Remanufacture.”

Not to split the hair too finely, but Fear Factory played nothing from “Remanufacture.”

That album was entirely remixes of “Demanufacture.”

And they included only one song from “Soul of a New Machine.”

Regarding the Slayer segment of that concert:

The only songs played from “Diabolus in Musica” were “Bitter Peace,” “Death’s Head,” “Stain of Mind,” and “Scrum.”

“Perversions of Pain” and “Love to Hate” were not included in the set.

Either Ben needs to take better notes or he needs to be more familiar with the music played at these shows.

These errors are similar to previous mistakes made in documenting the recent Megadeth concert.
