On July 4th, Gabe’s Oasis in Iowa City will host the “Firecracker 500” music festival.

The festival kicks off at 5 p.m. at the beer garden when the bar serves grilled food and lots of booze.

Then the musical aspect of the festival will kick in at 7:30. The Fleshtones, Los Straitjackets, Swingin’ Neckbreakers, Subsonics, The Bent Scepters and The Delstars are all scheduled to perform.

Tickets are available at several music stores in Iowa City. The cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
