McFarland Clinic opens in West Ames

The old HyVee location at 3600 Lincoln Way recently became home to McFarland Clinic-West.

The 26,000 square-foot facility, which also rents to Ames Total Fitness and the HyVee Pharmacy, is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Services offered at the clinic include mental health, family medicine, dermatology/optometry, physical therapy and eyewear sales.

Fifteen healthcare providers from the McFarland East Clinic relocated to the new location.

Dr. Dale Anderson, chief executive officer of McFarland Clinic, P.C., said the new clinic is “a natural extension of medical services at the 13th and Duff location.”

Dr. Anderson’s sentiments were echoed by Roger Kluesner, chief operating officer. Kleusner said the primary reason the clinic was established was to provide more healthcare services to West Ames.

Kleusner said patient acceptance of the new location is high.

The clinic’s project was started in November 1997, when the location was just a large open space.

With a total renovation budget of about $3,000,000 to cover expenses for the parking lot, internal and external renovations, furnishings and equipment, the project was completed in May of 1998 by the Harold Pike Construction Company.

An open house is scheduled for June 14 from noon to 3:00 p.m.
