Ames — Kerry Miller has been named Iowa State’s eighth volleyball coach, Athletics Director Gene Smith announced last Friday.

Miller was responsible the for Duquesne University team’s improvement during her short tenure. Her record was 47-46 in her three year stint. In her second year she led the team to an 18-13 record, second best in school history. In her final year she led the Lady Dukes to ten conference wins which was the most ever.

“Kerry is experienced as an athlete, where she achieve All-America status, and as a coach, where she has proven to be an outstanding leader,” Smith said. “Kerry has demonstrated an ability and vision for building a team concept, which is desperately needed in today’s collegiate athletic scene. She has a reputation for being a technician, and her teaching skills are solid. But most importantly, Kerry’s personality fits the Iowa State family. We are excited that Kerry and her husband, Scott, who was also a volleyball All-American at Penn State, have brought their family to join us in Ames.
