Counseling offered during summer

Student Counseling Service will be offering individual or group counseling throughout the summer. The Counseling Service is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and is located on the third floor of the Student Services Building. Counseling is free to students. Health and Fitness Classes

The Ames Parks and Recreation Wellness Program is offering health and fitness opportunities this summer, including a strength training facility, a newly expanded cardiovascular room, aqua aerobics classes, teen fitness programs, step aerobics classes and personal training services. A six-week session of fitness classes begins July 6 through August 15. For more information, contact Carla at 239-5360.


Cross country mile races

Ames Parks and Recreation Department and the Ames Area Running Club will be sponsoring a cross country mile run club. Races will be held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. starting June 24. Participants will run one mile on the Iowa State cross country course and will receive a ribbon with their time printed on it. Races will cost $1, to be paid at the course. Adult tennis lessons offered by ISU Head Tennis Coach

Michele Conlon, ISU Head Tennis Coach, will be conducting a special adult beginner tennis program sponsored by Wilson Raquet Sports and the Tennis Industry Association. The class will be on Wednesdays from 7-8 p.m. at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center. Each participant will receive a Wilson raquet, four hours of group lessons, one hour of indoor court time, a guest pass at the Ames Raquet and Fitness Center and a ball machine use coupon.
