Iowa State’s Aaron Runk was named today to the 1998 District VII GTE/Cosida Academic All-American Team. Runk, a sophomore with a 3.73 GPA in pre-engineering, led the Cyclones with a .493 on-base percentage and five triples.

He was second on the team with a .360 batting average. He is a two-time academic all-Big 12 first-team member and was a Big 12 Player-of-the-Week honoree. The Cyclones finished the season 20-27 and 10-18 in the Big 12.
