Locals Good Things will bring its Natalie Merchant-influenced pop-rock sound to People’s Bar and Grill for a 9:30 performance.

Saturday

Trippfest II will make its debut at Inis Grove Park on Duff Avenue and 24th Street with appearances by such local powerhouses as 35″ Mudder, Floodplane and Great Big Freak.

Grubbie Ernie, Mudlark and Nickel Shy are also on the bill. The show begins at 2 p.m. and is free, however, donations for cancer research will be accepted.

Beer is allowed at the park.

Sunday

The Ska Against Racism tour, otherwise known as the bands that set-up interviews but do not follow through tour, will hit the Arboretum for a 2 p.m. show.

Less Than Jake, The Toasters, MU330, Five Iron Frenzy, Mustard Plug, Kemuri and The Bruce Lee Band are scheduled to perform.

Tickets are $10 in advance for Iowa State students and $15 for non-students. The price will increase $1 the day of the show.

As the single “21 Years of Pain” continues to dominate Lazer 103.3’s request charts, 35″ Mudder will make a Des Moines appearance at Connie’s Lounge with Custom. The all-ages show begins at 5 p.m.
