With regard to my letter to the editor published in the Iowa State Daily on Sept. 11, 1997, under the heading “The truth about Harry Wu,” I retract any and all statements asserting Harry Wu to be a convicted rapist and asserting that Harry Wu was convicted of raping a 15-year-old girl and sentenced to a long prison term. I regret that such statements were included and published in the letter to the editor.
