Reflections of a graduating senior
April 30, 1998
With only a week ’til I graduate, I reflect on my time at Iowa State.
I am the student you never see; the quiet one in the corner, remember me?
I am the one who doesn’t follow the group; I take my own path, I’m out of the loop.
I have no regrets, but lately I fear that no one will ever know I was here.
So, before I bid this campus goodbye, I’ll attempt to answer the question “Who am I?”
My name is Brenda, I’m married to Dan; I love ice cream, I’m Drew Carry’s biggest fan.
I commute, I ski, I count stars at night. My major is family services, but I just want to write.
I work very hard; success is my mission. I’m the second sibling in the start of an Iowa State tradition.
I’ve shook Jischke’s hand; a million books I have read. I get my best quotes from “Beavis and Butthead.”
I aspire to be God, I’ve never missed a class; I’ve got where I am without kissing ass.
I don’t judge people by only what I see. I’m an advocate of personal responsibility.
To sum it up, this ride has been fun. It’s easy to say that now that I’m done!
