English language editorial
April 26, 1998
y name is Dimitris Kouzoudis, and I am a GSB international senator. I would like to congratulate you for the sensitive concerns that you expressed through the “Unnecessary new ‘laws'” article on the April 13 issue. Certainly it is of great advantage for an international student or visitor to U.S. to know correct English. However, it should be noted that English is a tough language to learn and also that it is harder for poor countries to have a second language as part of their education. A hand of help to all those people is always more than welcomed.
Once again, thank you for your concern. It means a lot for all of us who are miles away from our countries.
