I can understand why ABC cancelled “Ellen.” The ratings had slipped. “Only” about 10 million Americans were watching the show.

ABC will probably replace it with an ordinary sitcom — one with juvenile dirty jokes, snickering about sex and horny men leering at actresses with big breasts.

The self-appointed keepers of American morality who fought so hard against one lone likeable gay character who reflected a piece of the real world should be happier now.
