I am writing this letter in response to the tragedy that occurred on our campus last Friday.

As we all know by now, Tim Widmer was killed in an motorcycle accident. What really makes me upset is the fact that our very own Iowa State Daily had the nerve to print an article devoted to telling every Iowa State student who reads the Daily that Tim was at fault because he was not wearing a helmet.

I am very disappointed in the fact that the Daily had the nerve to print this even though the ACCIDENT was out of Tim’s hands, even if he had been wearing a helmet.

I bet you are wondering why I capitalized the word ACCIDENT. I am doing this to let everyone know this tragedy was an ACCIDENT, and no one is really at fault.

I wish the Daily would have shown a little more respect to Tim, his friends and family by waiting a while to print such an article.
