National recording artists for 107.5 FM KKDM’s DotFest 2 were announced Friday.

This year’s DotFest line-up will include Everclear, Marcy Playground, Fastball, Goldfinger, The Atomic Fireballs and Sister Soleil.

Local band Slipknot, soon to be signed to a major label, will also perform.

“KKDM’s DotFest 2 is the premier summer music festival in Iowa, and this lineup proves that,” KKDM Assistant Program Director Sophia John said in a press release. “These are the biggest names in modern rock right now.”

Three of the artists, Everclear, Marcy Playground and Fastball, currently hold the top three signals in Central Iowa and nationally in Billboard Magazine and R&R, with songs “I Will Buy You a New Life,” “Sex and Candy” and “The Way,” respectively.

These bands’ success has also been measured in Central Iowa, as most have performed at sold-out performances over the past two years.

DotFest itself has proven to be a successful venture in Central Iowa, as over 16,000 fans turned out at last year’s festival.

KKDM’s DotFest 2 will be June 12 at the Ankeny Airfield.

Tickets for DotFest 2 go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at all TicketMaster outlets. For the first weekend, the first 5,000 tickets will be $7.50 and $12 after the first 5,000.
