In a recent letter, Eric S. Vymyslicky expresses the fear that if the Boy Scouts allow the service of Scoutmasters who happen to be gay, such Scoutmaster will describe their life partners by saying: “His super little butt gets all tight and his cheeks get all rosy, but I say ‘Brucy Baby, darling, you look fabulous.'” My guess is that the Scouts frown upon Scoutmasters talking about anyone’s butts, be he homosexual or heterosexual.

If Vymyslicky thinks that only homosexuals are capable of inappropriate behavior — or indeed more likely to engage in inappropriate behavior — then he reveals a profound ignorance of not only homosexuals but also of heterosexuals.ÿ ÿ
