Warm up with a hot cup of coffee and meet new friends in the Pine Room of the Memorial Union on Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m.

The Office of International Students and Scholars has launched Free Coffee Fridays to give international students a place to meet others and relax.

All students and faculty are welcome to the Free Coffee Fridays, which are sponsored by the Student Union Board.

Matt Bryner, an international peer assistant for OISS, said that it’s a good way to close the gap between students.

“It’s for students to just come and relax,” Bryner said. He said that there is no agenda. Students can come as they are and stay as long as they want.

The Free Coffee Fridays have been offered since the beginning of the semester. Bryner said in more than three weeks the group has grown from 25 to 50 students.

“There’s definitely a need for it,” Bryner said.

He said to promote organizations on campus, different clubs are encouraged to bring representatives to the Free Coffee Fridays.
