ISU women upset by Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Jaclyn Johnson had 23 points, including two baskets and two free throws down the stretch, as Kansas upset No. 23 Iowa State 65-58 Saturday night.
The Cyclones (20-5, 9-3 Big 12) led for most of the second half until Jennifer Jackson stole the ball and threw a full-court pass to Lynn Pride for a layup, giving Kansas a 55-53 lead with 4:15 to play.
Johnson then scored twice to make it 63-55, and hit two free throws for the final score.
Pride and Nakia Sanford each scored 10 points for the Jayhawks (16-6, 8-5).
Megan Taylor had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Cyclones. Teammate Stacey Frese added 17 points but committed seven turnovers.
The Cyclones shot 36 percent from the field for the game, including 7 for 25 from beyond the three-point arc.
ISU won the battle on the boards, but turned the ball over 25 times compared to Kansas’ nine miscues.
ISU’s star inside players Jayme Olson and Janel Grimm were held to a total of seven points on 2 of 10 shooting.
