Women’s basketball

Once again, the Daily has forgotten the better basketball team in its coverage of scores. For those of you who were not at the men’s game against Kansas State and missed the score the FOUR times it was given, or read the Daily and didn’t realize we have a women’s team, we beat Kansas State 80-50.

This improves our record to 21-5. This is the third or fourth time the Daily has forgotten the women’s score or put it in the much vaunted sidebar in favor of a half-page spread of an Iowa game. I question how the sports staff could have missed the score and fail to understand how they could not come up with even a very few highlights of the game. As I mentioned, the score was given several times throughout the game and the fans even heard it, as they gave the women some Hilton Magic.

For those of you who follow sports here, but do it only via the Daily, I urge you to come see the women play Baylor on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The women’s games, despite a lack of coverage by the Daily, are as much fun as the men’s games, and the crowds are smaller, so you will get much better seats. So, come watch five-time rookie of the week Megan Taylor play for number 6 and the rest of the women’s team, and show the Daily that not only do we have a women’s team, but that they are worth covering.
