The photo caption under Matt Dietrich’s picture on the front page of today’s (Feb. 10) Daily was disgusting and tasteless.

Was this some idiot’s idea of humor? A 12-year-old girl being stalked is not something to be joked about. Never.

And … what about Dietrich? If this caption is true, he’s certainly been arrested by now. Otherwise, I’m sure he is overjoyed with your misrepresentation of his character. He won’t proudly send copies of this article off to relatives.

Was the caption put there while someone was fooling around and then not removed before publication? If that is the case, this may prove to be a harsh lesson for the Daily in the perils of sloppy journalism. The paper deserves whatever action Dietrich decides to take against it.
