Traffic lights

Since I left Ames about a year and a half ago, I have grown accustomed to reading the Daily online for my daily dose of local hometown news. For the most part, I have been pleased with what I have seen. There are very few places on the Internet to find out about the future of Veishea, for instance. Unfortunately, in the Feb. 23 edition, I made the mistake of reading the article on Ames’ stop lights. I read the entire thing and was only able to come away with one conclusion. This guy spends too much time in his car.

I realize that there are a lot of students from small towns at Iowa State, and probably some from towns without stop lights, but is it really necessary to devote an entire article to the length of stop lights, and why some are longer than others?

Ames can be a really exciting city, but I doubt that many people spend their free time trying to figure out why the light is still red. There was no sports coverage, but an article on red lights made it into the final copy? Keep up the great news coverage, and listen to the radio during red lights.
