Country stars release their greatest hits

There has been a country epidemic of greatest hits CDs in the last few months, as at least a half a dozen of the biggest stars of the genre have released “best of” compilations.

So for fans who hesitate to buy the regular releases which come with the good and the bad, here is your chance to catch up on some of your favorite songs.

“The Greatest Hits Collection”

Brooks & Dunn

Brooks & Dunn is the most successful duo in country music with countless hit songs, and fans have waited a long time for a CD with all their favorites.

The duo’s latest CD is “The Greatest Hits Collection” and includes 19 great songs. Sixteen of them are classics like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “Lost & Found” and “Hard Workin’ Man.”

There are three new songs, including the already released “Honky Tonk Truth” and “He’s Got You” — which hit No. 2 on the Billboard country charts a couple of weeks ago. Fans are in for a great bargain and will not be disappointed…

“Diamond Rio: Greatest HIts”

Diamond Rio captured its second No. 1 hit song with “How Your Love Makes Me Feel.” It is one of two new songs on the 14-track greatest hits CD. The second song is the still chart-rising “Imagine That.”

It is a great CD with a wide variety of songs, from the ridiculous “Bubba Hyde” to upbeat love songs such as “Meet in the Middle.”

“Direct Hits: The Best of Collin Raye”

Collin Raye’s love songs are some of the most popular songs on the radio, which makes “Direct Hits” a true gem.

Raye is the master of laughing at himself while attracting fans and the disc captures this perfectly.

“Direct Hits” includes four new songs, such as the newly released “Little Red Rodeo.” The other six are classics like “One Boy, One Girl” and “Love, Me.”
