The following information was provided by the Ames Police Department. All individuals are innocent unless proven guilty.

  • Nicole Lynae Ryan, 19, 2036 Lynn, Woodward, was arrested for third-degree theft, Dec. 20. He was later released on $1,300 bond.
  • Toshiro Boyd, 30, 225 S. Kellogg, was arrested for driving under suspension, Dec. 20. He was later released on $650 bond.
  • Dawn Morgan, 26, 406 Benton, Boone, was arrested for driving under suspension, Dec. 20. She was later released on a citation.
  • Kenneth Francis O’Brien, 20, 2621 Hunt, was arrested for minor on the premises, possession of false identification, interference with official acts and possession of alcohol underage, Dec. 21. He was later released on 0% of $1,000 bond.
  • Emily M. Sheetz, 20, 101 Nevermind Drive, Chatham, Ill., was arrested for minor on the premises, Dec. 21. She was later released on bond.
  • Gustavo Coronado, 42, 626 S. 16th #10, was cited for providing alcohol to a minor and serving alcohol after hours. Dec. 21.
  • Jorge Lopez Garcia, 20, 510 New Highway 96W, Franklin, Ind., was arrested for possession of alcohol underage, Dec. 21. He paid a $145 fine and was released.
  • Arvid M. Johnson, 20, 270 W. Cottage, St. Paul, Minn., was arrested for possession of alcohol underage and possession of false identification, Dec. 21. He was fined $257.50 and released.
  • David W. Ham, 19, 1127 Linn, Boone, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, Dec. 21. He was later released on a citation.
  • Chris A. Hennings, 20, 4130 Lincoln Swing #3, harassment of a public official, Dec 21. He was later released on a citation.
  • Gregory Don Howard, 19, 11459 SE 56th St., Runnells, was arrested on a warrant, Dec. 21. He was later released on $67.50 bond.
  • Darren James Lewis, 22, 209 E. 9th St., was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court, Dec. 21. He was later released and given time to pay.
  • Tammy Lynn Williams, 24, 123 Washington, Story City, was arrested on a warrant, Dec. 22. She was later released on $165 bond.
  • Eduardo Hernandez, 34, 103 Ash #14, was arrested on a third offense of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and a warrant, Dec. 22. He was later taken to Story County Jail.
  • Thomas Charles Toye, 37, 1926 22nd St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant, Dec. 22. He was later released on $135 bond.
  • Christopher Hemesath, 19, 2735 Scott, Des Moines, was arrested on multiple warrants, Dec 22. He was later released on 0% of $800 bond.
  • Tammy Rae Nelsen, 19, 1000 NW 2nd St., Ankeny, was arrested for theft in the fifth degree, Dec. 23. She was later released on a citation.
  • Justin James Carroll, 18, 317 S. 2nd #1, was arrested on a warrant, Dec. 23. He later pled guilty and was released.
  • Janice Marlene Ford, 60, 7594 Highway. 135 North, Embarrass, Minn., was arrested for theft in the fifth degree, Dec. 23. She was later released after posting $165 cash bond.
  • Larry Neal, 49, 215 Lynn #10, was arrested for driving under suspension, Dec. 24. He was later released on a citation.
  • Terry Marion Miller, 37, no address, was arrested on a warrant, Dec 24. He was later turned over to Story County officials.
  • Margaret Ann Brice, 43, 601 Hayward Ave., was arrested for driving under revocation, Dec. 26. He was later released on a citation.
  • Bryce E. Wyble, 22, 600 Puplar St., Murray, Ky., was arrested for public intoxication, Dec. 27. He was later fined, released and given time to pay.
  • Justyn Ray Jarnagin, 24, 108 Tangerine, was arrested for domestic abuse, Dec. 27. He was later released on a judge’s order.
  • Scott Chamberlain, 21, 1000 Tennyson St., Stratford, was arrested for making alcohol available to a minor, Dec. 27. He was later released on a citation.
  • Nathan Phipps, 21, 211 2nd St., Beaver, was arrested for making alcohol available to a minor, Dec. 27. He was later released on a citation.
  • Dena K. Nollet, 23, 515 S. 4th, was arrested on a warrant, Dec. 28. She was later released on $70 cash bond.

DPS Log

January 1, 1998

  • Sarah M. Schendel, RR#1 Arrasmith Trail, reported that while her vehicle was parked at the end of Brunier Drive, someone broke out the rear driver’s side window and entered her vehicle. She said personal property was taken from the car. Estimated loss and damage is $685.
  • ISUDPS had a vehicle towed from 13th St. and Haber Road for being a traffic hazard. The vehicle was taken to Butch’s Service Center.

January 3, 1998

  • University Student Apartment Complex reported that they have five cars and one motorcycle in the storage area that shouldn’t be there. They said the owners are no longer residents of married housing. The vehicles will be processed as abandoned vehicles.

January 4, 1998

  • A stun gun was found in room 3699 Helser Hall during a routine fire inspection. The stun gun was placed in DPS property room for safekeeping.

January 6, 1998

  • Matt Charles Wiggins, 205 West Lime Court, reported that while his vehicle was parked in Lot 13, someone keyed the driver’s side of the vehicle. Estimated damage is $500.
  • Clinton Shane Larsen, age 37, of Urbandale, Iowa was arrested and charged with assault after an incident at Kildee construction area.

January 7, 1998

  • Loss of a cordless drill from General Services Building.
  • Hit-and-run accident near Westgate Hall.

January 8, 1998

  • An employee working in Osborn Cottage reported that she had received a phone call on her audix where the caller played classical music for about 15 seconds and then hung up.
  • Matt Franco, Ogden Entertainment, Iowa State Center, requested that DPS impound a bicycle that had been locked to the bike rack on the north side of C.Y. Stephens for some time. An officer cut the lock and the bike was impounded for safekeeping. Estimated value of the bike is $25.
  • Two computers were stolen from the den of Westgate Hall.
