The Artist formerly known as Prince has announced he will perform at Hilton Coliseum in Ames on Dec. 16 at 8 p.m.

Singer of such radio classics as “Purple Rain,” “Kiss,” “Little Red Corvette,” “Bat Dance,” “Cream” and “Get Off,” The Artist will be performing what he has dubbed the “Jam of the Year,” a two and half hour show of his greatest hits from the ’80s and ’90s as well as selections from recent recordings and new material.

Tickets for the show go on sale today at 10 a.m. at all TicketMaster centers, by phone at 233-1888 in Ames or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.

In order to discourage ticket scalping, Golden Circle seats will be available (limit four per person) only at the Iowa State Center Ticket Office and charge-by-phone numbers.

Golden Circle tickets are $45.50, while parquet and balcony tickets are $30 and $20.49, respectively.
