Simply not in the best interest of BSA
December 15, 1997
This is in response to Chief Justice of the GSB Supreme Court, Robert Fink and his hypocritical letter to the editor (Dec. 9) on my character and actions. Who are you, Robert Fink, to question my actions? Somebody please tell me? That ratified garbage on the ballot that attempted to strip the specialty seats from the constitution was not in the best interest of the Black Student Alliance nor myself, and so I voted against the removal of the specialty seats.
As an organization, BSA takes stands that support students of African descent. And because the removal of the specialty seats was not in the best interest of BSA members, many blacks voted against that proposal.
In your letter you stated that the BSA members that you have met are intelligent freethinkers.
So really, what are you, Mr. Fink, trying to say? That those BSA members you have not met are not intelligent free speakers? If BSA as an organization takes a particular stance, then its members are encouraged to vote in a way that is beneficial to them.
However, no one is brainwashed to vote a certain way. Think before you generalize.
Last time I checked Robert Fink was not paying any of my bills, so get off my tip! Mr. Robert Fink, before you ever think about questioning my character or actions with your simple-minded rebuttal, you better ask somebody!!!
