Rolling up your sleeve

Lori Sporrer

The Iowa State University students and faculty and the Ames community did a wonderful job rolling up their sleeves to donate blood at the recent bloodmobile at the Memorial Union from Oct. 27 to 31. The successful week produced 1,687 pints of blood to blood centers around the state!

Each time someone donates blood they are helping save three lives. This impacts many, many people who may be our own families, friends and neighbors. The need for blood is always high and the support of the ISU students in donating is greatly appreciated. Your support will help approximately 5,061 people who are needing blood products to speed up their recovery, assist with treatment of their disease or even to save their lives.

A special thanks to Kyle Tetmeyer and JoEllen Kohlman for their hard work and for doing an excellent job organizing and planning for the successful bloodmobile.
