Printing problem delays ticket pick-up

Iowa State students will have to wait until after Thanksgiving break to receive their men’s basketball season tickets.
Dave Crum, athletic department ticket manager, said the distribution of men’s basketball season tickets had to be postponed from Monday, Nov. 17, until Monday, Dec. 1, due to printing problems.
“As we were getting ready for the pick-up date in November, we discovered a number of tickets were misprinted,” Crum said.
“We had to reprint the entire allotment,” he said.
Actions are being taken to ensure this printing problem does not occur in the future, Crum said.
“We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused,” he said.
Students will now receive their tickets only one day before the first official game of the season, against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Crum said the reprinted passes include the same 12 games students paid for in the ticket-package deal.
Crum said the athletic ticket office’s main concern was that students receive the correct tickets. “We wanted to make sure there weren’t any doubled seating assignments,” he said.
The tickets will definitely be available on Dec. 1, but Crum said if they are completed sooner, the office will inform people of their availability through the radio.
“Nobody wants these tickets out more than the ticket office,” Crum said.
Stephen Kenney, a senior in finance, said he has been purchasing men’s basketball student season passes since his freshman year.
“I hadn’t had problems in the past with purchasing season tickets,” Kenney said.
Kenney said he didn’t understand why the passes were coming out later than their expected date.
“I think they could have came out and explained the problem better than just running a little thing in the Daily,” he said.
Students can pick up the tickets with a picture ID and their current fee card at the Jacobson Athletic Building on Monday, Dec. 1.
To prevent lines from forming, Crum encouraged people to pick up their tickets on Monday or during the day on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
“The chance of lines forming will be much greater if they wait,” Crum said.
