Not a devil

Stephanie Dagerman

Having just read the article “Husker football has too good of fate, deserves plenty more hate” by Chad Calek, I feel greatly offended. I am a freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a long-time Husker fan.

I felt the article was childish and showed a great lack of respect for fans and for a man and a football team that has worked harder than anyone on improving the game. Tom Osborne is nowhere near the anti-christ that this column claims. He is a religious man that is kind and giving.

No other coach that I know of divides the bonuses that he receives up among his coaching staff. The devil to me is a very selfish being and by Osborne’s actions, one can see that he is not a devil.

As a native Nebraskan, I have never even noticed that the word bra is in the middle of Nebraska and I am sure many others don’t care either. You must be a sick and perverted person to put that together.

Also, could someone explain to me why Chad wrote “Why is it that everything in the world seems to work around the idea that the rich get richer and the poor gets poorer?” If this was the case than Nebraska should have stayed No. 1 and Missouri should have moved down in the polls, right?

So maybe next time you want to write an column, Chad, maybe you should do some homework so you know what the heck you’re talking about.
