Ames Community Schools
The Ames Community School District has vacancies on four curriculum committees: math, language arts, science and physical education. The committees study and guide curriculum and instruction.
Parents and community members are encouraged to apply. Application forms are available at any of the school buildings or at the curriculum office in the Lincoln Building, 120 S. Kellogg St.

Study in the Netherlands
Informational meetings about a low-cost travel seminar in the Netherlands will be held Nov. 11 and 13.
The tour, from May 12-21, 1998, will consist of visits to gardens, museums, and horticultural businesses. Participants will learn about Dutch culture and their unique flower industry.
Meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 11 at noon and Thursday, Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m. in 110 Horticulture.
Those interested should attend one of the meetings to learn more about the trip and scholarship opportunities.
International Voices
As part of the International Voices series organized by the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics, Dr. Tetiana Hardashuk will present a seminar Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. The topic of the seminar, to be held in 353 Catt Hall will be “Nature Conservation Policy in Ukraine and its International Context.”
Hardashuk, who is the head of an environmental organization in Ukraine, is presently in residence at ISU as an IREX fellow. Among the topics which she will talk about are public participation in nature conservation in Ukraine, and the state of the national environment and main problems which government is addressing in Ukraine.

Diversity Discussion
The National Pan-Hellenic Council will be sponsoring a diversity and multiculturalism discussion today.
The discussion will take place at the Margaret Sloss Women’s Center from 5 to 6 p.m.
Nancy Holmblad, graduate assistant and vice president of student affairs for the Women’s Center, will be facilitating the discussion.
