Domino’s Pizza, the Ames Police Department and the Army ROTC sponsored the Halloween Program for 1997.

Approximately 50 Army Cadets and Police Explorers watched over the children in north Ames area as they went about their Halloween trick-or-treating. In case a child became lost, injured or frightened, these “helpers” were available to render assistance and call for the police.

No serious incidents were reported this Halloween due partly to the efforts put forth by these “helpers.” This again demonstrates the value of ISU student volunteers to the community’s well-being. Domino’s Pizza provided pizza for the volunteers, and their assistance was also deeply appreciated.
