Go out and have some fun
October 21, 1997
Homecoming is supposed to be the time of year where we all come together as a school and show our true colors.
Cardinal and gold, that is.
There are so many things going on this week that there should be no excuse for any of us not to be involved somehow.
With all the opportunities available, everyone should be able to go out and do something.
Homecoming week is when we all root for the Cyclones, regardless of what we really think about them. Win or lose, we should be behind them.
This is the week when all students, regardless of organizational affiliation, residence hall house, classification, gender, sexual orientation, greek house or area of study should be on the same side.
Only during Homecoming will you find students and faculty alike cheering on the football team. Only during this week can you find alumni and just pure Cyclone fans cheering side by side.
Homecoming is about so much more than just football and partying. It is about school spirit, unity and Cyclone magic. Homecoming is about everything college is about and the things we all love to do.
It’s about Yell Like Hell and yard displays. It’s about the Nadas at the M-Shop and the Cyclone Shootout. It’s about the Step-off Parade and the pep rally.
These are the things that make Homecoming fun and enjoyable for people of all ages. These are the events that keep us coming back for more.
Homecoming is the time of year when we should all show our true spirits and our real convictions. Not only should we be wearing cardinal and gold on the outside, but we should be wearing them in our hearts as well.
