Iowa State President Martin Jischke is expected to make his final decision about the Veishea celebration sometime during the middle of next week, according to University Relations officials.

Jischke is expected to announce whether the 75-year tradition will continue on campus in 1998. Earlier this semester, Jischke asked ISU students to pledge to make the campus alcohol-free during Veishea.

Several student groups have pledged to go dry for the celebration.
