Take the bus

Usually when people say things are gray, they mean things are unclear.

But when it comes to Cy-Ride’s new gray route, things are very clear.

Cy-Ride appropriately responded to the suggestions and needs of students and other members of the community by adding the new route to their busing schedule.

Now, people who live north of North Grand Mall have an easier trek to campus via Cy-Ride.

The route, which begins at the mall, winds north of the mall on Bloomington Road, down Hoover Avenue, through the University Village and eventually to campus.

With new housing and commercial developments springing up north of Cub Foods, the route is necessary to accommodate increased demand among current and future residents and consumers.

In fact, Bob Bourne, director of Cy-Ride, said the area is expected to explode in development within the year.

It is smart for Cy-Ride to address the need for a new route by anticipating demand before problems occur. It is good they were proactive, not reactive.

It is great that they are considering the needs of students.

The current route runs only weekdays; it also only has two northbound and two southbound trips each day.

It might not seem like much service now, but it’s a start.

The route is helping students who are currently living in the area to make their way to class.

And when the housing and commercial developments are completed, we only hope Cy-Ride addresses this issue by adding more services to the gray route.

It’s clear that the gray route is a great addition to Cy-Ride.
