Volleyball

The Iowa State volleyball team suffered a pair of straight set losses from two nationally-ranked conference foes. Texas, ranked 13th, defeated the Cyclones 15-8, 15-3, and 15-12 on Friday night.

On Saturday, 14th-ranked Texas A&M beat ISU 15-6, 15-6, and 15-3. The losses kept the Cyclones winless in Big 12 Conference play.

Hockey

The ISU men’s hockey team remained perfect by routing North Dakota State University 8-1 on Friday night and 8-4 on Saturday.

The Cyclones improved to 6-0 overall in front of standing-room only crowds both evenings.

Cross Country

The 20th-rated ISU men’s cross country team placed 10th of 26 teams at the NCAA Pre-Meet. Saul Lempirikany finished fourth individually, while teammate David Lichoro took fifth place.

The ISU women, paced by senior Amber Grady, finished tied for 20th at the meet. Twelve of the 23 women’s teams were nationally-ranked.
