Jack and Dilla Cosgrove of Cedar Rapids were named Iowa State’s 1997 Cy’s Favorite Alum recipients.

They were recognized at halftime during ISU’s Homecoming game against Baylor University Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium.

Jack Cosgrove holds a degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State and is president of the Rockwell Avionics and Communications. He previously served as president of Collins Avionics and Communications Division.

In 1987, he received ISU Alumni Association’s Distinguished Achievement Citation for his professional and academic achievements, community leadership and service to ISU.

Dilla Cosgrove graduated from Mount Mercy College and is currently co-chair for the ISU Foundation’s Campaign Destiny.

The Cosgroves’ involvement with ISU athletics blossomed during the late 1970s and early 1980s when their four children, Kelly, Jill, Tracey and Patrick all were ISU students.

In 1986, they were selected ISU Parents of the Year.

Their active involvement with ISU has included not only annual contributions and significant gifts for the Jacobson Building and the purchase of one of the new skybox suites, but personal involvement as members of the Athletic Director’s Advisory Committee and the ISU Foundation Board of Governors.
