The newly established Children’s Museum of Central Iowa (CMCI) will preview its exhibits at the Ames Public Library Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the library’s auditorium.

The exhibit will be equipped with a grand array of discovery-oriented activities and hands-on experiences that demonstrate and help explain some of the mysteries of life.

Children and their parents will be able to learn about the forces of magnetism and its real world applications at magnet tables. The exhibit will also include the giant bubble-box maze, Bernoulli Blower and paper airplane races.

Lipid profile screenings

The Student Health Center will be conducting lipid profile screenings Monday through Friday during the weeks of Oct. 27-31 and Nov. 3-7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The screenings measure the levels of various cholesterols and fats in a person’s body. A 10-hour fasting is required before the profile.

The cost is $9 in cash for students and faculty, or it may be charged to the student’s University Bill.
