The Offspring review is cheesy, immature

Jeffery Payne

I was reading through the Daily on Thursday morning, and I was delighted to see a review for Tuesday night’s Offspring concert. Everyday I pick up the Daily knowing that each and every one of its pages will be filled with worthless and inane articles that totally neglect the real news.

But today I was excited because of an article on something other than the September 29th Movement or the latest alcohol death at a university.

So I get to the library and I start to read the article, as I fondly remember the great time I had on Tuesday night. But I was shocked.

Is this article for real? Did Ben Jones go to the concert or did he walk around campus looking for someone to tell him what it was like?

In the article he makes reference to a crowd that is not very enthusiastic, awful performances by both Voodoo Glow Skulls and The Offspring and some other comment that there were too many people at Supertoad to mosh.

I wish Ben Jones could have gone to the concert; it was truly enjoyable.

The Offspring played a great set, and they were very crowd oriented. Everyone that I ran into there was very pleased, and I think it was one of the better shows that has come to central Iowa in a long time.

Lastly, Ben Jones made the comment that some of the antics at the concert were immature and cheesy.

I think the only thing we’ll find that is cheesy and immature is Ben Jones’ continued articles in the Daily.
