The following information was provided by the Ames Police Department. All individuals are innocent until proven guilty.

  • Aaron Michael Cook, 26, 243 S. Franklin Ave., was cited for violation of a noise ordinance, Oct. 16.
  • Calvin Brian Plezes, 25, 2125 Hyland Ave. #6, was arrested on a warrant for possession of stolen property, Oct. 17. He was later released on bond.
  • ÿJohnnie Jordan, 21, 2006 Grand Ave. #1, was arrested on a warrant for possession of stolen property, Oct. 17. He was later released on bond.
  • Jill Elizabeth Bacon, 20, 1080 35th St., West Des Moines, was arrested for minor on the premises, Oct.17. She was later released on bond.
  • Christy Marie Kever, 20, 1517 S.15th St, Adel, was arrested for minor on the premises, Oct. 17. She later pleaded guilty, was fined and released.
  • Todd Loren Edsall, 21, 2573 Heler Hall, was arrested for public intoxication, Oct. 17. He was later released on a citation.
  • Jeffrey Dean Wilson, 29, 525 Welch Ave. #3, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, Oct. 17. He was later released on a citation.
  • Chad Udell, 20, 505 E. Ave., Dickeyville, Wi., was arrested for possession of alcohol underage, Oct. 18. He was later released on bond.
  • Matthew Bartling, 20, 3119 Peachtree, Janesville, Wi., was arrested for minor on the premises, Oct. 18. He was later released on bond.
  • Ryam Schaefer, 20, 625 N. 12th., La Crosse, Wi., was arrested for minor on the premises, Oct.18. He was later released on bond.
  • Jaquelyn Junginger, 18, 2312 Wallace Hall, was cited for possession of alcohol underage, Oct. 18.
  • Jason Ostrander, 19, 508 Welch Ave., was cited for possession of alcohol underage, Oct. 18.

DPS Log

October 3

  • ISUDPS found a bike seat by the southeast door of State Gym. The seat was placed in the impound shed for safekeeping.
  • Chia-Tsung Hung, 1044 Wilson Hall, reported that his bicycle was stolen from the south side of Physics Hall. After talking with Hung, it was found that his bicycle was locked to the handicap ramp on the south side of Physics Hall, and that DPS impounded the bike for a parking violation. The bike was released to Hung.
  • Theft from room 204 Parks Library.
  • Harassing letter report from room 4201 Willow Hall.
  • Heather M. Langewisch, 407A Westgate Hall, reported someone took her key from her room while she was at class. She said she left her room unlocked while she was gone. Estimated loss is $15. Langewisch later called and said her keys had been found.
  • Union Drive Association Student Security Officer reported she was having a problem with some subjects in 2645 Helser Hall. Upon arrival, a DPS officer talked with Christopher L. Piekos, the resident of 2645 Helser Hall.

The officer confiscated a 12-pack of beer and several loose cans of beer from Piekos. Piekos was cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

  • ISUDPS stopped a vehicle on Wallace Road near Richardson Court because the driver and passenger were not wearing their seatbelts. When the officer approached the driver, Jacob Michael Hanson, 3370 Larch Hall, he could smell a strong odor of alcohol. The officer administered field sobriety tests to Hanson, which he failed. Hanson was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

After the driver was placed under arrest, the officer checked the car and found three cold bottles of beer under the passenger’s seat.

The passenger, Steve Paul Mulqueen, 5365 Larch Hall, was cited for possession under the legal age and released.

October 4

  • Driving under suspension at Lincoln Way and Wallace Road.
  • Evan Paul-Pettersen, 214 Howard St., reported his bicycle stolen from the bike rack at Agronomy Hall. Estimated loss is $613.50. The bike was locked to the bike rack at the time of the theft.

October 5

  • Liquor law violations at Sheldon Ave.
  • Assault at Linden Hall.
  • Matt B. Birmont, 2247 Friley Hall, reported he was awakened by a stranger in his room. He said he chased the subject out of his room, and later he found that cash had been taken. He said he found the perpetrator’s bag and flashlight in his room.
  • Theft from a vehicle in Lot B University Village.
