Explanation needed

Jeremy Davis and Cameron Beccario

With the September 29th Movement being such an extraordinarily vocal group, it is surprising there hasn’t been a response to Erica Hanson, Sharon Haselhoff, Ginger Hale and Molly Foster’s article, “Catt’s words taken out of context” (Daily, Sept. 25).

These women have raised some points that seem to conflict with a lot of what the September 29th Movement has told us about Catt.

So tell us, Mr. McGriff, did they get it right? Have you been wrong all along? Why should we support you when this unanswered challenge seems to slap you in the face?

While you are answering that, please take the time to also explain each of Alan Nosworthy’s requests.

How would they benefit our campus? What is wrong with the way they are now? What exactly is the Kuumba multicultural school and how will it help our community?

No one bothered to explain what these things are, so why should we blindly support these requests?

Finally, many people think this university needs a lot of things, but why should the proposed requests be deemed the highest priority?

If you can answer all of these questions, your movement will be that much stronger, and surely enjoy the increased support it deserves.

We all look forward to reading your reply.
