Newspaper needs some fresh ideas
October 6, 1997
I am not even going to say whose or which side I support. Those of you who know me have already gotten a taste of my opinionated views.
My thoughts in writing this letter are not concerning the current issues of debate here at ISU, but rather the manner in which they are approached and being handled within our school paper.
I realize opinions are opinions; we have all got at least one, and we have the right to voice them.
But do we have to come to college only to act like elementary children on the playground?
I mean, it is pretty pathetic to use an editorial as a means to attack and ridicule certain persons or groups within the campus, not once in a professional manner, but constantly in immaturity.
Please don’t get me wrong. I understand these issues are very important and sensitive. As I said, I have had my share of heated discussions.
I just think it would be nice to open the paper in the morning to a fresh subject that has a slightly positive air to it.
Come on, people, let us grow up a little.
So, how ’bout those Cubbies?
