Appalling article

The editorial titled “A cool place to hang out” in the Sept. 16 issue of the Daily can be paraphrased quite simply: “Let’s make ISU the best-known party campus in the country!”

I’m appalled that the Daily editorial board would write and publish such an article. The threat of cancellation hangs over one of ISU’s longest-running traditions like a hangman’s noose, yet I find an article proud of the recognition brought to ISU by a pornographic magazine and a bar.

I enjoy having an excellent Campustown as much as anyone else. However, when people look at my resume and my degree from ISU, I’d much rather have it known for its history and excellence than for its stature as “one of the hottest places in the Midwest.”
