Daily Staff Writer

June 28

* Yvette R. Anderson, 1113 North Dakota Ave. # 6, age 27, was observed driving erratically on Lincoln Way near Hayward Ave. She was stopped and found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was charged with OWI.

* Driver of a vehicle was stopped for driving away from the Kum & Go at Welch Ave. and Chamberlain St. without paying for gas. Driver, Salvador A. Rodriguez, 1713 9th St., Nevada, age 22, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was charged with OWI. A passenger, Justin Daniel Kline, 515 West N Avenue, Lot 12, Nevada, age 23, exited the vehicle and was found to be intoxicated. He was charged with public intoxication.

June 29

* A 17-year-old juvenile was observed driving in the area of Lincoln Way and Sheldon Ave. without headlights. Driver was found to be driving while license revoked and also cited for a .02 violation.

* Lynne-Tyre Lundy, 1113 North Dakota Ave., reports that while her vehicle was parked in the Memorial Union Ramp, the contents of her purse and day planner were taken. Loss $27.

June 30

* Shelly Rachel Arends, 2927 Woodland St. # 3, age 25, was observed driving erratically on South 4th Street, on campus. Driver was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was charged with OWI.

* Bob J. Green, 3052 Black Engineering Hall, reported that someone gained entrance to his storage room in Beyer Hall and took some tools from a cardboard box. No signs of forced entry were found. No suspects. Estimated loss is $40.

* Tricia Sandahl, USAC officer, reported that Said Omar Abdou, 115E University Village, had his wallet and keys taken from the Lied Athletic/Recreation Center. She said he had left them on the east window ledge while he worked out. When he returned, they were gone. Estimated loss is $15.

July 1

* Tricia Sandahl, 100 University Village, USAC Security, reported finding a backpack in the 100 University Village parking lot. The backpack and contents within were brought to the DPS office until the owner can be contacted. Estimated value of the back pack is $10.

* Joelle M. Andrew, M317 Larch Hall, reported someone had entered her room and took some of her jewelry. Estimated loss is $205.

July 2

* DPS observed Melissa M. Looney, 246 N. Hyland #210, entered the Kwik Shop at Lincoln Way and Sheldon Ave. Looney was having trouble walking and was swaying. Officer watched her leave the store and get back into the driver’s seat of her vehicle. When the officer approached her to ask for her ID, he noticed a strong odor of alcohol about her. Officer administered field sobriety tests, which she failed. She was placed under arrest for public intoxication.

* DPS arrested a subject on a Dallas County warrant, charging failure to appear after his involvement in an accident in the Iowa State Center parking lots, where he fell off his bicycle and may have broken his arm. Subject arrested was Scott Alan Hruby.

July 3

* Dennis Ethington, 347 Helser Hall, reported that a cellular phone was found in the Wallace/Wilson area and was turned in to him.

July 4

* Naomi Jeanette Lohr, 1701 Pierce Court, reported that at the Memorial Union Ramp, someone gained entry into her parked car and took some money out of her purse. Estimated loss is $65.
