To slowly fade away

Kirk Scheckel

Cheers to Jeff Brinkman for his common sense! As he so simply stated, “enough is enough.” He must be one of the smartest people on campus.

Peek-a-boo, everybody, wake up! The administration is not going to change the name of Catt Hall and The September 29th Movement is not going to give up. What do we do?

Like most things at Iowa State, it will eventually fade away; at least that’s what the administration wants, along with the intelligent Mr. Brinkman, me and the numerous other alumni and students who could care less what the building is named.

I would be willing to bet that other buildings on campus named in honor of outstanding faculty, administrators and alumni have not been examined to see whether the people they are named for ever made racist remarks.

Everyone, at least once in his or her life, has discriminated based on race, religion, age, intelligence, wealth or heritage. Just let this go away!

If a new name will make everybody get along, name it Brinkman Hall.
