Journalistic outrage

Mary Jo Vivian

[Chad] Calek’s Mar. 25 column was not satire, as he claims, but rather sexist comments derogatory to women and insulting to me. The sharp but gentle biting edge required in effective satire is missing in Calek’s work. His use of language and his craft are more worthy of a bawdy house or comedy club than a student newspaper. His refusal to apologize to offended readers compounds this journalistic outrage exponentially.
