Didn’t I fire you?
April 10, 1997
How great it is to see the GSB is living up to its full potential. I applaud them in their efforts to cut funding from some of the only sources of student-written publications and literature — and in the same week that someone (granted, he’s not a student and he’s not with a GSB-funded publication) wins a Pulitzer Prize in journalism. I hope my sarcasm is evident: Heaven forbid that Michael Gartner’s inspiration to every writer on campus should be quelled by dollars. The days are always doomed when GSB has to take money from the rest of us so as to fund their own mistakes. If I’m not mistaken, doesn’t GSB get paid? I think funding cuts should come first from their pockets.
I have very little else to say but this; it’ll be too bad when the day comes that someone — in his or her writing — should happen to come upon the answer to the beginnings of our universe, the truth about the demise of the dinosaurs, answers to the existence of a god, or the meaning of life, only to know that no one else will know because ethos Magazine or the Daily or The Drummer didn’t have those extra few dollars to print a few more words.
P.S. Why am I still hearing news from GSB!!? Didn’t I fire you guys?!
