April 9

* Roongroje Thanawongnuwech, 1542 Hawthorn Court, reported that he sold a vehicle to Benjamin T. Studenski, 129F University Village, in January 1997. He said he asked Studenski for the license plates a number of times, but has not received them. He said he has been charged for parking violations from Parking Systems, for tickets received since he sold the car. Studenski later contacted the officer, and said he had taken the plates to Thanawongnuwech, and he would register the vehicle at the courthouse. He also said he would go to Parking Systems and take care of the parking citations. Officer and Thanawongnuwech talked with Parking Systems earlier and the citations had been charged to Studenski.

* Kathlene Ann Jackson, 6117 Maple Hall, reported some of her clothing and other property, has been disappearing since March 1, 1997. She said she always locks her room when she leaves. Estimated loss is $55.

* Brett Errthum, 218 Stanton Ave. #8, reported he locked his bicycle to the bike rack on the west side of Marston Hall. When he returned, the bike was gone. Estimated loss is $1,030.

April 10

* Intimidation, 109D University Village.

* Fire/Ambulance call, Gilman Hall. Subject burnt by chemicals.

April 11

* Officer stopped a vehicle at 2120 Lincoln Way after officer witnessed a vehicle strike the curb and then swerve back into the lane. When officer approached the driver, John Charles Orosco, 136 Campus Ave. #1, he could smell a strong odor of alcohol about him. Officer administered field sobriety tests, which Orosco failed. Officer placed Orosco under arrest for OWI.

* DPS received a 911 call that there was a fire in Knapp Hall. Officers and the fire department were dispatched. It was found that the fire was in Room 2204 Knapp Hall. Upon investigation, it was found that the resident, Jamie Pittman, had left a couple of candles burning near her computer. It appears as though this is where the fire started. Unknown damage at this time.

* Janice Peterson, 4017 Quebec, reported that while she was in a computer lab in the Durham Center, an older male went down the aisles and told people to keep quiet. Peterson said no one was talking or making any noise at the time. She said the male left the building, after he left the lab.

* Officer stopped a vehicle for expired plates on Welch Avenue. The plates on the vehicle belonged to the former owner. The plates that belonged on the vehicle were under the front seat. Officer had the vehicle impounded by Butch’s Towing.

April 12

* DPS received a 911 call of a subject who was having troubles.

April 13

* Erikka Courtney Boetger, 1257 Willow Hall, reported that a person living at 125 Hyland, struck her vehicle while it was parked in Lot 63, before Thanksgiving break. She said she has been trying to contact him, but has been unsuccessful. Officer attempted to contact the person, but was unable to reach him. Officer is going to contact Boetger and advise her that she needs to contact the Story County clerk of court to file for a court date to resolve the matter.

* Myra Earley, 1447 Wilson Hall, reported that some jewelry and cash is missing from her room. She said she left the door unlocked, for about 30 minutes while she took a shower, and when she returned, her property was gone. She stated there was a male on the floor that didn’t look familiar to her and seemed out of place. Estimated loss is $257.
