The Ames community will celebrate January Dollar Days this Thursday through Sunday. Downtown businesses will be offering deals and discounts exclusive to the event. Parking will be free on Main Street throughout the entire weekend.

More than 16 downtown businesses will be participating this year, with many selling items for only one dollar. Miss Meyer’s Clothing Consignment, Duck Worth Wearing, Cook’s Emporium and more have prepared tables and sections of dollar items. The Ames Public Library will also be offering “carts full of one dollar books,” according to the Downtown Ames website.

Food, drinks and other goods will be available downtown starting Thursday. Many businesses are operating under special hours. To see new hours, and a list of participating businesses, go to http://www.amesdowntown.org/january-dollar-days.
