This letter is in response to the ongoing discussion of the origin of humankind and our collective destiny that has been taking place on this page.

I am tired of hearing Christians talk about how “to know God is to know the truth” as if they saw the cross go up themselves. I am not so arrogant as to believe that we are alone in the universe and that our destiny lies only in our own hands. However, I disagree with the principle that “Jesus” will set us free.

One day beings of superior intellect and understanding will visit our universe. That day may not coincide with an astronomical phenomena, but it will be a day of great enlightenment for humankind. These beings will bring true peace to this world. When that day comes, it will be the Christians — and others who dismiss believers as crazy — who will be called upon to witness the truth.
